DAY 1
DAY 2
- If you arrive the day before, courtesy pick-up is available (airport
or hotel in San Juan) to Luquillo. Only one pick-up time for the
group, otherwise if members of your private group are arriving at
different times, they will need to take a taxi—not included in price).
Hotel (Luquillo or San Juan) for the night before the tour starts is
not included in price. If pick-up is in San Juan, we will start birding
on our way to Luquillo. Flexible itineraries for private groups. - Lunch at local bakery.
- Birding at the edge of Forest in the town of Luquillo while looking
for the Lizard Cuckoo, Woodpecker, Adelaide´s Warbler,
Tody, Emerald, and Flycatcher. - Dinner downtown Luquillo.
DAY 2
- Full-day at El Yunque National Forest (PR191 North) looking for
more endemics: Elfin-woods Warbler, Amazon, Tanager,
Spindalis, Bullfinch, Mango, Green Mango, picnic style
- brunch at the Forest.
- Tonight we will look for our Owl at El Yunque. Depending the
season, early dinner could tale place before night owling.
DAY 3
DAY 4
- Pick-up for another full-day bird outing in the mountains of Naguabo (PR191 South) and the
coastal plains of Fajardo and Ceiba. Target endemics of the day: Euphonia*, Yellow-
shouldered Blackbird*, plus Caribbean specialties, such as Green-throated Carib, Antillean
Crested Hummingbird, and Caribbean Elaenia. Depending the time of the year, there is a
possibility to see the seasonal Antillean Nighthawk. (*rare) - Break for lunch on our drive to Fajardo.
- Dinner in Fajardo or Luquillo.
DAY 4
- This morning we will have more opportunitites for our Amazon and the Elfin-woods Warbler, plus
any other missing species.. - Check-out and lunch at a local restaurant.
- Drive back to San Juan with a stop for our Vireo.
- Drop-off in San Juan after 1:00 PM depending of missing birds.
- If you are going to depart from Isla Verde Airport, please make sure that your flight departs after
4:00 PM.
